Hey nature lovers, guess what? I’ve got something super cool for you! If you’ve been following my adventures, you already know how much I adore hunting down the most charming holiday spots nestled in lush greenery. I’ve explored countless gems, both within our lovely Netherlands and beyond, and let me tell you, there’s still a treasure trove of beauty waiting to be discovered. Think enchanting holiday parks tucked away in dense forests or cozy cottages perched in the mountains.
So, I did a little digging to find some inspiration for our next green getaway. There’s just something magical about waking up surrounded by trees, away from it all, don’t you think? In this post, I’m going to share with you a few of my latest finds – special holiday parks that are the heart and soul of nature.
WHY STAYING IN NATURE IS A MUST
Over my travels, I’ve really gotten to see firsthand the wonders of immersing yourself in nature. Staying amidst the greenery feels so different from a city hotel stay. It’s probably the tranquility of nature; it kinda nudges you to slow down and breathe. And guess what? It’s not just me saying this – studies, like one from Wageningen University, back up how good nature is for your health.
What’s more, when you’re staying at a holiday park or campsite right in the midst of nature, you’re instantly in the green. These spots are usually nestled in the most picturesque locations, perfect for long walks or simply unwinding. And that whole thing about living slower? Totally happens. You become more mindful of your surroundings, less caught up in the hustle and bustle of city life. It’s a vibe I absolutely adore!
SLEEPING IN THE GREEN IN AUSTRIA AT EUROPARCS PRESSEGGER SEE
Austria’s always been on my radar, but believe it or not, I’ve never stayed in a holiday park there. I usually go for standalone houses, but Austria’s got its fair share of holiday parks. What’s cool is that the ones deep in nature are perfect for those of us craving peace and a bit of space around our stay. That’s why I’m really excited about EuroParcs Pressegger See in Carinthia. It’s all surrounded by trees, pet-friendly, and even has a swimming pool. Sounds like a dream, right?
EUROPARCS BEEKBERGEN IN THE HEART OF THE GREEN OF THE VELUWE
And hey, don’t think I’ve forgotten about our own backyard in the Netherlands. Through vakantieparken.nl, I stumbled upon EuroParcs Beekbergen. I’ve had a taste of something similar before (hello, EuroParcs de Zanding with those adorable tiny offices), and I loved how it felt like nature was just an extension of my living room. EuroParcs Beekbergen is wrapped in greenery, letting you step right into the forest from your cottage. You get to pick your own comfort and luxury level here, pets are a big yes (which is awesome), and there’s both an indoor swimming pool and a restaurant on site.
CROSSING THE BORDER: DISCOVER SUNPARKS KEMPENSE MEREN
Last but not least, let’s take a little trip outside our borders to Antwerp. I usually hit up Antwerp for some (vintage) shopping sprees and occasionally stay over. Recently, I found out about this lush, green holiday park in Mol, right in the Antwerp region – Sunparks Kempense Meren. Nestled in the forest and beside a beach, this place has hundreds of accommodations. I’m usually not one for large-scale spots, but the photos got me intrigued. Plus, your furry friend is welcome, and they’ve got both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
So, there you have it, folks – my latest scoop on where to soak up nature’s best. Whether you’re a seasoned nature enthusiast or just looking to escape the city’s chaos, these spots are sure to recharge those batteries. Can’t wait to hear about your adventures!
